Doug graduated from Columbus Technical Institute with an Associate of Applied Science in Architecture Technology in 1986, from Miami University with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 1989, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of North Carolina Charlotte in 1993.From 1993 to 1995, he served as hospital architect for Children’s Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. From 1996 to 1998, he worked at Design Forum Architects in Dayton, Ohio where he developed a specialty in automotive facilities. Starting in 1999, Doug spent 14 years with Trammell Crow Company and CB Richard Ellis as Real Estate Project Manager and Facilities Director. After working as a sole proprietor architect in Louisville, KY from 2012 to 2015, he joined the Project Management Firm of Turner and Townsend as a Program Director at Nissan/Infiniti Headquarters in Franklin, Tn. Doug returned to home Southern Ohio in 2018 and joined the firm in 2019 as the senior architect. He is a registered Architect in Ohio and Kentucky and is also a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and a member of the American Institute of Architects. Doug became a managing member of McCarty Associates in 2021.
